Omicron peak past In Ottawa, the number of cases, hospitalizations and outbreaks have started to decline. Despite spurring the seventh wave of the pandemic, COVID-19 transmission remains relatively high in the city.

Institutional COVID-19 cases have also declined from highs several weeks ago, but outbreaks continue, especially in hospitals and facilities housing the elderly. Six of his outbreaks are ongoing in Ottawa hospitals, according to Ottawa Public Health's twice-weekly COVID-19 data.

There have been nine of his deaths in the past month related to his COVID-19 outbreak within the facility.
