After attending the US Open last month, Tiger Woods played competitive golf on Monday and adjusted for the Open Championship at the Irish Pro-Am Event.

Woods shot 5 over par 77 in the first round of JP McManus Pro-Am for two days at the Adea Manor Hotel&Golf Resort in Limeric.

The highlight of Woods' round was the chip-in eagle on the 12th hole of par 5 which excited the audience. But he also had a double bogey, six bogies, and one birdie.

Woods played last in the PGA Championship in May. This is the second start after recovering from a brutal right leg injury that has been away from sports for over 14 months. He made a cut, but withdrew after the third round.

15 majors committed to Pro-Am in April after announcing that they would play at Woods' 150th Open in St. Andrews, the venue for the 2000 and 2005 Open. The most iconic course of winner victory and open rotation. This event benefits Irish philanthropic groups and gives players the opportunity to play to get used to Europe ahead of the final major of the year.

Eight days away from winning the Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele hit an 8-under 64, leading Rickie Fowler by three shots in each tournament. Tyrell Hatton of England was third with a 4-under 68.

Pro-Am has also allowed members of the LIV Golf Invitational Series to play. Fresh from his first LIV appearance, Brooks Koepka tied fourth with Irish Shane Laurie and Seamus Power, and South African Brandon Stone with a 3-under 69. Dustin Johnson (70), Bryson Deshambo (72), and Lee Westwood (72) from England were among the other participants along the LIV.

The up-and-coming Irish Leona Magwire on the LPGA Tour is the only woman in the field and kicked off with an even par 72. She hits the ball early at the end of the hole, forgetting that Pro-Am had individual components. He was allowed to continue participating in team events.

The Open Championship will be held from July 14th to 17th.
