"There is no definitive date" for quarterback Tom Brady's return to the Buccaneers, head coach Todd Bowles said Thursday.
Brady has been absent from training his camp since being exempted from practice on August 11.
At the time, Bowles said Brady would be out for personal reasons until his second time in Tampa Bay "some time later." This Saturday night's preseason game with the Tennessee Titans.
Bowles declined to provide a definite timeline for Thursday.
"Let's see." We'll talk about that next week," Bowles told reporters. "I don't care right now. I'm going to practice and play against Tennessee. I said, 'After Tennessee.' No definitive date. But we will check it, keep in touch and find out. "
Bowles has been in touch with Brady and said he will be in touch with Brady in the season opener against the Cowboys in Dallas on Sept. He said he was confident he was.
Brady, who turned 45 earlier this month, said in 2021 he led the NFL with 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdowns in his passing.
Three times he's MVP and his 15 Pro Bowl selections are the NFL's all-time leaders in touchdown passes and passing yards, attempts and completions.
