Toronto extends hours at seven swimming pools amid heat warning

The opening hours of seven swimming pools in Toronto will be extended to near midnight.According to the City of Toronto, the city has a heat wave warning.

The city announced in a tweet that it will extend the hours of its seven pools to 11:45 p.m. on Sunday as a result of the hot and humid weather all over the city.

Toronto, along with much of southern Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime Region, has received a heat wave warning from Environment Canada.

"Temperatures are expected to cool slightly on Monday," said the Environment Agency.

Advice from Environment Canada is that outdoor workers take regular breaks and all residents Drink water regularly before you feel thirsty.

The Toronto pool is open until 11:45 PM. Inside the Sunnyside Pavilion on Lake Shore Boulevard West are Alex Duff (Christy Pitts Park), Giovanni Caboto, McGregor Park, Monarch Park, Parkway Forest, Smithfield Park, and Gus Rider.

As a result of today's heat stroke warning, the following seven pools will remain open until 11:45 PM. Today (August 7):

• Giovanni Caboto
• McGregor Park
• Monarch Park
• Parkway Forest
• Smithfield Park
• Visit Sunnyside/Gasrider
