Bernardeschi has signed a DP deal through 2026 that is said to be worth $6.5 million per season. The Carrara native certainly has no second thoughts about turning down his offer to stay in Europe.
"I was welcomed like a star and it was incredible," Bernardeschi said to Il Foglio (translated from Italian) in Toronto. talked about a short time.
“Jealousy is an ugly beast. Anyone who attacks wants to be here with me," he continued. "I can't imagine how many of my Serie A colleagues called me because they wanted to come and play in the MLS...even the top players."
