Traffic alert: Highway 99 in Richmond to close overnight Tuesday

Drivers will be rerouted onto the on- and off-ramps.

A section of Highway 99 in Richmond will be closed late Tuesday into Wednesday due to work by B.C. Hydro.

Highway 99 at the Steveston interchange will be shut down to traffic between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to allow crews to relocate a B.C. Hydro electrical line, said the B.C. transportation ministry.

Traffic will be rerouted up and over existing on- and off-ramps, but drivers should still be prepared for short-term traffic stoppages on the route.

The highway is expected to reopen by 5 a.m.
