“I mean, why should we stand back and watch our biggest trading partner, the country with which we share the longest border — and actually a great country, I love Canada. I’ve always loved Canada because of its natural beauty. Why should we let it become Cuba?” Carlson said, according to Business Insider.

Carlson said he was “completely in favour of a Bay of Pigs operation” in Canada, not acknowledging that the operation to overthrow Castro’s government was a failure.

Azerrad responded by saying he wasn’t on board. “I don’t know that I’m there yet with you,” he said. Carlson than said he was “talking himself into a frenzy.”

In the past, Carlson has also said the U.S. should: “Strike back at Mexico.”
