A person was arrested for shooting at Williams. The Stampede Lake on Sunday afternoon led to the evacuation of the main stand.

According to RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Chris Clark, police were called to the Stampede Grounds of Williams Lake around 3:30 pm on Sunday. After reporting the shooting.

"Two unspecified injured people have been taken to a local hospital and one suspect has been detained," Clark said.

"Preliminary information suggests that this incident was targeted and that no further risk generally remains."

Clark said. I asked someone who had a video of the incident to contact Williams Lake RCMP (250-392-6211).

The shooting took place at the end of the last day of Stampede, the first day since 2019.
