The victims are a 71-year-old male and a 65-year-old female, both from Vancouver.
Car crash killing two of him on Route 97 .
At approximately 8:30 am on Friday, a red GMC pickup traveling south on the freeway veered into the opposite lane. That he hit one vehicle, another vehicle (a black Toyota SUV).
Occupants of the SUV - his 71-year-old man and his 65-year-old woman from Vancouver - died, he said, B.C. Highway Patrol.
The pickup truck driver was taken to hospital with unexplained injuries.
Driving impairment is suspected as a contributing factor to the crash.
BC Highway Patrol took over the investigation with support from the RCMP and BC. coroner service.
