COTONOU —Attack on a police station in northwestern Benin killed two police officers and injured one on Sunday, police sources said. Adjacent Burkina Faso and Niger.

Dassari is located near the border with Burkina Faso, about 600 km (373 miles) northwest of Cotonou, Benin's largest city.
Approximately 250 km from a police station in the Kalimana commune near the border with Niger, an armed assailant attacked on April 26, killing at least one and injuring several.
Benin's army has not officially contacted about Sunday's attack.
The spokesman, Didier Afanboed, introduced Reuters to the police.
"This morning's attack has once again spread panic among the locals," said a local Dasari official who did not want to be named for safety reasons.
"The situation is now in control, thanks to the reinforcements from the army," he added.
Al Qaeda and Islamic State-related groups extending from the Sahel region of West Africa to northern Benin have escalated attacks in recent weeks.
