WASHINGTON — The United States is investigating the case of women's rights activist Salma Al-Shehab, who was sentenced to 34 years in prison in Saudi Arabia, the State Department said Wednesday.
"Using free expression to defend women's rights should not, and should never, be criminalized," said State Department spokesman Ned Price. told reporters. (Reporting by Simon Lewis and Rami Ayyub; Writing by Daphne Psaledakis; Editing by Mark Porter)
