Spokane, WA — British Columbia-based Junior B Hockey League's only American team will not be able to find enough COVID-19 vaccinated players from next season Withdraw.

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League announced last week that the Spokane Braves will not participate in the 2022-23 season.

Commissioner Jeff Dubois said in a statement that the Braves found it difficult to fill the roster "despite the best efforts" and would have been the franchise's 50th anniversary season. He said he would miss something.

Dubois said he welcomed rejoining the league if the Braves were possible.

Canada's COVID-19 protocol requires visitors to be fully vaccinated in order to enter the country. 19 British Columbia-based league Canadian players also need to be vaccinated to enter the United States for road games in Spokane. The

league has announced that it will have 19 teams this season, with the team that was supposed to play against the Chiefs forming a match against other opponents.
