Vancouver Weather: Mainly cloudy for Groundhog Day

Settle in for some soggy weather, Metro Vancouver. There's rain in the forecast from Friday until at least Tuesday.

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Thursday, Feb. 2. Today’s weather is expected to be mainly cloudy, with a high of 8 C, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. Overnight, there’s a slight chance of showers with a low of 3 C and then Friday looks rainy and windy, with a high of 9 C. Then, the weekend will likely be soggy, with rain in the forecast on Saturday and Sunday, highs of 9 C and 9 C, respectively. The rain is expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday, with highs of 7 C and 8 C, respectively, followed by possible showers on Wednesday.

And in case you are wondering, the Canadian Press reports that Canada’s first groundhog prediction was from Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia, who apparently saw his shadow indicating six more weeks of winter conditions.
