“Investigators believe this to be a targeted shooting in connection to the Lower Mainland gang conflict and are working … to determine Jack’s connection to the area,” said IHIT spokesman Sgt. Timothy Pierotti.

Richmond RCMP said multiple 911 calls about the sound of gunfire shortly came in after 11 p.m. on Sunday in the 8000-block of Sunnymede Crescent. Both men were found with gunshot wounds and Jack died at the scene.

On Monday around 7:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP got a call about a burned-out vehicle in the 17000-block of 92nd Avenue. IHIT also took control of that crime scene as it is is thought it could be linked to the shootings.

“Investigators continue to canvass both scenes for witnesses and video,” said Pierotti in a release on Wednesday. Anyone with information who hasn’t spoken to police is asked to contact IHIT.

“If you have a vehicle with a dash camera, please check to see if it has any recordings. Some vehicle cameras record, even while the engine is off.”

Anyone who was in the 8100-block of Sunnymede Crescent between 10 p.m. and midnight Sunday or in the 17000-block of 92nd Avenue between 6 and 8 a.m. the following day or has dashcam footage is asked to call the IHIT tip line, 1-877-551-4448, or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
