Suspect known to police
Peel Regional Police have arrested a repeat offender in connection with a recent sexual assault investigation.
On Thursday, Jan. 12, police say a woman was in the area of Queen St. and Kennedy Rd. in Brampton when the victim met with the male suspect.

Police say the suspect forcefully confined the woman in a building where she was physically and sexually assaulted.
A weapon was used in the sexual assault and the woman was seriously injured, according to police.

A short time later, police arrested and charged Phillip Gray, 30, with sexual assault cause bodily harm, strangulation, assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, utter threats to cause death, and two counts of fail to comply with release order.
Gray had two prior release orders from the courts for violent offences.
He has been held for a bail hearing.
