This is something a man and woman are learning today as Toronto Police released quality images of two suspects wanted for an attack in which a man was allegedly followed and struck by a vehicle on Aug. 26.
It was supper time when Canada Post mail carrier Justin Smith and the driver of a silver Honda Civic got into a short verbal clash over a parking issue. The car allegedly followed Smith two kilometres from the Wesstway Plaza, at Kipling Ave. and Dixon Rd,. to the parking lot of his apartment building. There, the vehicle allegedly struck Smith and left him for dead before speeding away. The father of twin nine-year-old boys suffered a shattered left leg and wrist.“He was hunting me,” Smith alleged in an interview with The Toronto Sun which ran Saturday. “I am lucky to be alive.”
But he is not out of the woods just yet. He’s had two surgeries and will require at least one more.
“I am in a lot of pain, but I am grateful to have a second chance,” he said. “I love working to provide for my wife and twin nine-year-old sons, all of whom I love so much.”
He hopes to be able to do that again.
Having returned home this week, mom and sons have become a mini-medical team, trying to help dad cope with the severe damage to his reconstructed leg and wrist while trying to keep his morale up.
With the focus on walking properly again, Smith will require year of recovery before even considering going back to his beloved post office job.
While Smith faces a Herculean task as he strives to recover, investigators intent on ensuring this driver faces justice also have an enormous job ahead of them.
Toronto Police officers are working hard on this case, going through dozens of videos for the best angles that provide suspect images.

New frames of two people of interest is a major development in a case being treated as an attempted murder. When he saw the pictures Sunday, Smith was emotional and overwhelmed.
“That’s them,” he alleged. “Their faces are forever etched in my mind. I will never forget their faces.”
No charges been laid, and any allegations will have to be tested in court.
Police urge anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 416-222-8477 or traffic services at 416-808-1900.
Or better yet, as Supt. Ron Taverner suggested, the suspects should contact a lawyer and arrange to surrender to police to save time on what is inevitable. It is only a matter of time before police come knocking at your door.
These are the top investigators in the world who use the latest in technology to solve crimes.
Investigations like this don’t come together in an hour like they do on TV. But they do come together.
What happened to Smith is a reminder for everyone to avoid heated confrontations when someone parks illegally or chirps at you in a car.
Tempers can flare and when they do, a car can become a lethal weapon.
