Winnipeg police will speak to media Tuesday afternoon about concerns around searching the Brady Road Landfill for remains of murdered Indigenous women.

Police Chief Danny Smyth and forensics Insp. Cam MacKid will speak at 2:30 p.m. from police headquarters downtown.

Smyth said Friday that remains of three victims of alleged serial killer Jeremy Skibicki are believed to be at the landfill, but said no search is planned — due in part to the amount of time that has passed and the fact that there’s no known starting point to search the massive site.

Earlier this year, Skibicki was charged with the murder of 24-year-old Rebecca Contois, whose remains were found in the south-end landfill.
