A Colombian woman has been killed by a boat propeller after jumping into the water to retrieve her flip-flops.
The Miami Herald reports Natalia Andrea Larrañaga Fajardo, 26, of Cali, was at White Watta beach on San Andrés island on Nov. 27 when she got into a boat with friends.

Fajardo had left her sandals behind, and jumped back into the ocean to retrieve them and that is when she was struck by a boats propellers, suffering catastrophic injuries to her legs and back.
She was pulled onto a jet ski and taken to the hospital.
A statement issued by the State Social Enterprise Department Hospital said Fajardo had extensive surgery and several blood transfusions, but was pronounced dead the next day
The boat and its crew that struck Fajardo are under investigation.
