Wong’s Parlay-A-Day Challenge Feb. 6: The Boldy and the beautiful

If you’re like me, I enjoy a parlay bet to spice things up while watching sports. For February, I’m going to play (as the title of this article says) a parlay every day (Monday to Friday) and post it in a daily article. I’ll keep track of the results here, and we’ll see where I end up after the month. Every parlay bet will be a one-unit wager unless otherwise noted.

One piece of advice: If you’re joining me on this challenge, ensure you’re responsible with your bankroll. Parlay bets can be fun, but they can be difficult to win consistently. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

February 3rd recap: Anthony Edwards over 38.5 RPA + Bojan Bogdanovic over 21.5 points (+242, bet365) LOSS

Record since Feb. 1: 0-3, -3 units

Well, no one said it would be easy. Bogdanovic had 17 points at halftime and finished with 21 while, Edwards had an off-night and finished with 19 points, five rebounds and five assists.

February 6th parlay: Hischier over 2.5 SOG + Robertson O 3.5 SOG + Boldy 3.5 SOG (+647, Betano)

The NHL returns from their All-Star break, meaning it’s time to return to the ice for tonight’s parlay play.

Nico Hischier has been money at home all season long, averaging 3.5 shots per game. The Devils face off against the Vancouver Canucks, who dealt Bo Horvat to the Islanders, severely weakening their lineup. New Jersey is not the offensive juggernaut they were earlier this season, but this matchup is too juicy to pass up.

Speaking of juicy matchups, not sure there’s a better one than the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks’ defence has been like Swiss cheese this season, allowing an NHL-worst 38 shots on goal per game. Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson gets to benefit from Anaheim’s ineptitude tonight. On the campaign, Robertson is averaging 4.4 shots on goal per game at home.

If the Ducks are the most porous defence in the NHL, the Arizona Coyotes probably have the second worst allowing almost 35 shots on net per game this year. Since signing a 7-year extension with Minnesota on January 16th, Wild star forward Matt Boldy has elevated his game. Over his previous five contests, the 21-year-old leads the Wild in shot attempts (37) and shots on goal (22). Boldy plays on the first power play unit, where he is one of the trigger men on the man advantage, but at even-strength will get the Coyotes’ depth lines, which should be a favourable matchup.
