Wong’s Parlay-A-Day Challenge Feb. 7: McDavid a monster in Motor City

If you’re like me, I enjoy a parlay bet to spice things up while watching sports. For February, I’m going to play (as the title of this article says) a parlay every day (Monday to Friday) and post it in a daily article. I’ll keep track of the results here, and we’ll see where I end up after the month. Every parlay bet will be a one-unit wager unless otherwise noted.

One piece of advice: If you’re joining me on this challenge, ensure you’re responsible with your bankroll. Parlay bets can be fun, but they can be difficult to win consistently. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

February 6th recap: Hischier over 2.5 SOG + Robertson O 3.5 SOG + Boldy 3.5 SOG (+647, Betano)

It took until day 4 to get our first win, but it was worth the wait.

Record since Feb 1: 1-3, +3.47 units

*Odds as of 1 p.m. ET*

February 7th parlay: Connor McDavid over 3.5 SOG + Frank Vatrano over 2.5 SOG (+252, BetRivers)

There aren’t too many players that have been more consistent than Connor McDavid this season. The Oilers superstar has decided to become a bigger goal-scoring threat this season, and it has paid off with an NHL-best 41 goals. For our purposes, we’re just looking for shots on net, and McDavid has produced in that area as well, averaging 4.1 shots per game on the year and 5.5 shots per game over his previous 10 contests.

Tonight, Edmonton visits Detroit who rank 11th in shots allowed per game (30.1). It’s not a great matchup for the Oilers, but this is more about McDavid’s otherworldly talent than the opponent he’s playing.

Usually, I like to pick against the Anaheim Ducks for shot props, but tonight, I’ll be on the other side. Frank Vatrano has been a shooting machine of late, with 38 shot attempts (26 shots on goal) over his last five games. Anaheim will be on the second half of a back-to-back tonight, but it will be against the lowly Chicago Blackhawks, who are giving up 36 shots on goal per game over their previous 10 contests. Look for Frank The Tank to keep things rolling in the Windy City.
