Alphonso Davies got Canada off to a strong start, scoring on a header in just the second minute of play.

Canada impressed in its opener against Belgium, but ultimately lost 1-0. Star winger Davies had a penalty kick saved in the first half. Croatia played to a scoreless draw with Morocco in its opener.

Earlier in the day, Morocco upset the Belgians 2-0, leaving the Group F table wide open.
