York Regional Police have released Air2 helicopter video of police apprehending and arresting four male suspects who were committing an armed bank robbery.

Air2 worked with police on the ground to capture the suspects wanted for robberies in York, Durham, Peel, and Halton regions.

On Friday, January 20, shortly after 10 a.m., York police were called to a currency exchange store in the area of Yonge St. and North Lake Rd in Richmond Hill, for an attempted armed robbery.

Police say two male suspects with a firearm tied to enter the business as the victim was opening the store.

The victim fled and the two suspects left in a dark-coloured Mazda.

Air2 located the vehicle on Hwy. 407 and followed it into Durham Region.

Police – including members of the hold-up, canine and emergency response units – located the vehicle and suspects as they were committing an armed robbery at a bank in the area of Victoria St., W. and Gordon St. in Whitby.

The suspects to flee but they were all arrested outside of the bank.

The vehicle’s licence plate was stolen.

Police have linked the four suspects to a Peel pharmacy robbery and an Oakville jewellery store robbery on January 18, and aa Vaughan electrical supply store on January 19.

A 21-year-old male with no fixed address, a 20-year-old male from Stoney Creek, along with two youths, 16-year-old male from Brampton and a 15-year-old male from Toronto, have been charged with a combined 46 criminal charges including robbery with a firearm, Robbery, disguise with intent and fail to comply with court order.
