A private funeral for murdered Cork woman Tina Satchwell was held on October 25, more than six years after she was first reported missing.
A private funeral for Tina Satchwell took place in her native Co Cork today, Wednesday, October 25, more than six years after she was reported missing in March 2017.
The remains of Tina Satchwell (née Dingivan) were discovered at a residence in Co Cork on Wednesday, October 11, the day after An Garda Síochána announced that the missing person case had been upgraded to a murder inquiry.
Tina’s widower Richard Satchwell, 57, has since been arrested and charged with his wife’s murder.
In an October 24 post on RIP.ie, Tina’s family said she is “sadly missed and lovingly remembered.”
The notice said that Tina's funeral cortege would pass through St. Bernard’s Place in Fermoy on Wednesday at 12:30 pm, and that “Tina’s funeral will take place privately and quietly, as she lived.”
While the funeral was private, hundreds of people lined the route for the funeral cortege, the latest mark of respect from the local community that continues to mourn the 45-year-old.

In the days after the discovery of Tina Satchwell's remains, community members gathered for vigils to offer their condolences to the family.
At a vigil in Fermoy on October 16, a statement read on behalf of Tina's family said: "There are no words to describe the pain in our hearts right now, Tina.
"If we knew the last time we met was going to be our last time we would have hugged you extra tight.
"Tina would put a smile on anyone's face – she had a very bubbly personality and was a very sociable person.
"She was always out and about with her babies Ruby and Heidi [her pet dogs]. She loved her fashion – she was always dressed so well.
"We will cherish the moments and all the great memories we spent with you.
"Fly high our angel – you will be in our hearts forever.
“We love you Tina – you are at peace now. Until we meet again, give Nanny a big hug from (us)."
