TV poll: Likud bloc 54 seats, Blue and White bloc 47

A poll broadcast by Channel 13 News on Sunday evening shows that the Blue and White Party would get the most votes, edging Likud 35 Knesset seats to 34, but the Likud rightwing and religious bloc would be the largest, with a margin of 54 mandates to 47.

The survey was taken against the backdrop of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu appointing senior New Right Party member Naftali Bennett as Defense Minister and Chairman Avigdor Liberman of the Yisrael Beytenu Party saying he would side with whichever of the two leading parties compromises on a unity government. His party's nine seats could push the Likud-led bloc over the top. If an election for prime minister was held, 40 percent would vote for Netanyahu while 37 percent would vote for Blue and White leader Benny Gantz.
