Lesotho National Insurance Group (LNIG) Hollard has on Wednesday handed over food parcels worth about M20 000 to SOS Children’s Village.

“We are very thankful to LNIG team which showed good parenthood and support to the children and this is an indication to us as SOS Children’s Village that we are not alone in this work of ensuring that these children grow well and their needs are well met,” said SOS Children’s Village Care taker Palesa Seetane in her acknowledgements.

SOS Children’s Village National Director ‘Mathato Moreboli said the food parcels are an answer to their request of necessities in the children’s village where they take care of orphaned and vulnerable children. She emphasized that LNIG has really extended a helping hand to them following the Covid-19 that has brought a great impact to the world. “This is an indication that LNIG will grow if they keeping assisting where there is a need,” she said, adding that a well-fed child is able to learn and listen at school.

LNIG Hollard Managing Director Mpho Vumbukani said LNIG prefers giving back to the communities, hence they chose to donate to the children’s village. He added that for many years, SOS has taken responsibility of taking care of orphaned and vulnerable children and to help with their growth and education.

“Today we are giving out food parcels such as maize meal, cooking oil, sugar, beans, milk, gas and other household needs and these are all home necessities,” he said. He noted that these children are the future generation of this country therefore it is important to invest in them while they are still young.
