On August 22, 2024, a bus transporting Indian pilgrims in Nepal encountered a severe accident, resulting in multiple injuries and individuals unaccounted for. The incident occurred when the vehicle deviated from its course on a highway, coming to a halt on the rocky embankment of the Marsyangdi River.
The location of the accident was identified as near Abukhaireni town, situated approximately 120 kilometers west of Kathmandu, Nepal's capital city. According to police official Deepak Kumar Raya, the bus was carrying around four dozen passengers at the time of the incident. Of the 29 people successfully removed from the bus, 14 were found unconscious and immediately transported to nearby medical facilities for urgent care.

While the bus's upper section sustained significant damage, the vehicle fortunately did not plunge into the fast-flowing waters, potentially averting a more catastrophic scenario.
