Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia's Chechen Republic, has once again drawn attention with a controversial display. On August 16, 2024, he shared a video featuring himself driving a Tesla Cybertruck, seemingly modified with a machinegun mount on its roof. The Chechen leader stated his intention to deploy this vehicle to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Kadyrov, known for his extravagant public gestures, utilized the Telegram messaging platform to share the video and express his admiration for both the vehicle and Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO. He referred to Musk as the "strongest genius of modern times" and extended an invitation for him to visit Chechnya.

In his message, Kadyrov wrote, "We await your future products that will help us finish the special military operation," employing the term officially used by Russia to describe its actions in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022.

The Tesla Cybertruck, first unveiled in November 2019, has faced several production delays. Its appearance in this context raises questions about the potential use of civilian electric vehicles in military operations. The all-electric battery-powered light commercial vehicle was not designed for such purposes, making this modification particularly noteworthy.
