Israel plans strikes on Hezbollah money sites in Lebanon

Israel has stated its intention to carry out attacks on locations associated with Hezbollahs financial network in Lebanon. The announcement‚ made on 10/20/24 comes as tensions in the region continue to simmer.

Daniel Hagari‚ an Israeli military spokesperson‚ informed reporters that the strikes would happen soon. He said‚ “We will attack a number of targets in the coming hours“ Hagari also mentioned that warnings would be given to Lebanese people in Beirut and other places to leave areas near sites used for Hezbollahs money-related activities

A high-ranking Israeli intelligence officer (who wasnt named) added more details: the attacks would target various offices of Al-Qard Al-Hassan‚ which is Hezbollahs financial arm. However‚ the officer didnt give any specific info about where these places are located.

Its worth noting that the U.S. government took action against Al-Qard al-Hassan roughly 17 years ago. They said this group was being used by Hezbollah to handle its money matters and get into international banking systems

The Israeli militaryʼs plan shows theyʼre trying to hit Hezbollah where it hurts — in the wallet. By going after the groups financial network‚ Israel hopes to weaken Hezbollahs ability to operate. However‚ this move could also lead to more problems in an already-tense situation in the area
