Manhunt Continues for Escaped Murderer in North Carolina

The escape occurred as the transport van arrived at UNC Gastroenterology hospital in Hillsborough for a scheduled medical appointment.
Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood addressed the media on August 14, stating, "We currently have no concrete leads on Alston's whereabouts." The sheriff emphasized the dangerous nature of the escapee, urging residents to remain vigilant and check their home security cameras for any potential sightings.
The manhunt has mobilized approximately 105 personnel from various agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the FBI, and local law enforcement.
