UNIFIL Peacekeepers Injured in Southern Lebanon Explosion
Three UN peacekeepers were lightly injured in an explosion near their vehicle in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL spokesperson confirmed all patrol members returned safely to base and an investigation is underway.

UNIFIL, established in 1978, has been a crucial presence in the region for over four decades. With a mandate to confirm Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon and maintain peace and security, the force comprises approximately 10,000 peacekeepers from 46 nations. Operating along the Blue Line, a UN-established border demarcation between Lebanon and Israel set in 2000, UNIFIL conducts over 14,000 operational activities monthly, including patrols and observations.
