AIESEC Alumni Africa and Middle East said they have concluded plans to hold its first joint Regional Congress in Lagos. In a statement issued by the alumni member, Nwagwu Brenda, said the congress is tagged, ”Positioning For Global Impact” and a further training on leadership and economic synergy in a transforming world.
Nwagwu said the Regional Congress is an annual event, significant in setting the necessary framework and action plans that will guide programs and activities for the year with over 200 delegates in attendance from the region and the international body.
“Confirmed Speakers for the event include the CEO of Just Food Ltd, Tunde Ogunrinde, Founder Keexs (The Footwear Brand) Jide Ipaye and Moses Babatope, Group Executive Director/COO, FilmOne and co-Founder of Filmhouse.
“The theme was borne out of a need to look outwards and become significantly involved in global citizenship and leadership, creating transformation within our different localities as well as globally. “From leaders of large industries and organizations to entrepreneurs, we are seeking ways to synergize our various strengths, spur innovation and create positive global impact in leadership, business synergy across regions and service to humanity,” Nwagwu said.
He added with the help of successful opinion leaders and captains of industries, AIESEC Alumni Nigeria plans to reach over one million students across the country within the first year of the Inspire Africa Project thereby addressing the forth and eight Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of ‘Quality Education’ and ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’.
