Ladoja Cannot Intimidate Oyo PDP -Oyelese

Former Minister of Mines and Power and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Elder Wole Oyelese has  expressed sadness at the threat by a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja  to dump the PDP, saying  the former governor cannot intimidate the   party. Oyelese said it is unfortunate that bad history keeps repeating itself in Oyo State chapter of the PDP.

While calling on the national leadership of the PDP not to be perturbed by the empty threat of the former governor, but to rise up to the challenge by co-operating other leaders to arrest the drift. He added, “They should not be bothered by the current threat as it may after all be a great blessing.

“If Chief Ladoja is prepared to be part of the collective leadership arrangement that would be put in place and which will by the grace of God resolve all outstanding issues, then he is still welcome in PDP.

“However, any attempt by him to Lord it over the party and major stakeholders will definitely not work.”He averred that it is common knowledge in Oyo State that Ladoja’s overbearing attitude led to the refusal of Otunba Adebayo Alao- Akala to join the PDP; and that it was also responsible for the exit of Dele Adigun,  a former strong ally of Chief Ladoja, “who had earlier joined the PDP through my intervention.”

Oyelese added, “I brokered Adigun’s joining the PDP with Dr. Olafeso but he was not comfortable with Chief Ladoja’s leadership style.”
