Twelve people are said to have been killed in Kushe Community, Kuru District, Jos South LGA of Plateau State, on Sunday night.
DAILY POST gathered that the attackers came in the night at about 9pm and started shooting sporadically.
It was also gathered that the aforementioned number of people were killed and five others were injured.
Reacting to the incident, the Senator representing Plateau North, Istifanus Gyang, said, “We need more reinforcement of security operatives in our various communities to curtail this heinous act.
“Government has a burden, which is constitutional, that is to protect lives and property, so the government has to take responsibility for its citizens.”

Also speaking, the Member representing Jos South/Jos East Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dachung Bagos, condemned the attacks describing it as “barbaric”.
Bagos told residents to devise means of protecting their communities, to avoid repeats of the dastardly act.
“This brings me back to our calls for state police, which we believe if done will reduce crime drastically in our various communities”, he maintained.
However, the Plateau State Police Command, through its Spokesman, ASP Gabriel Ogaba, said, “The Plateau State Police Command received a report that ten persons were shot dead in a drinking joint at Sabon Layi, Kuru in Jos South LGA by yet to be identified gunmen who drove in with a Hilux and shot sporadically.
According to the Command, “Personnel of the Command and the Military have been deployed to the affected area.”
He added that the Commissioner of Police has ordered an immediate investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing and to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
