Six injured passengers in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway crash die

Six persons who were among the 12 injured passengers in the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident have lost their lives in Ogun State 24 hours after the incident.

The six persons died on Thursday, 24 hours after they were taken to hospital after their commercial bus rammed into a stationary waste disposal  truck on Wednesday .

The spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed this on Thursday.

No  fewer than 25 persons were involved  in the accident which involved some minors .

Akinbiyi on Thursday, in a statement titled. ‘Post-crash assessment on fatal accident,’ said three males and three females died as a result of their injuries.

Akinbiyi said, “From our new reports, we discovered that another six people – three males and  three females –  have died from the accident due to severe injuries from the scene.

“A total number of 19 persons have died while seven  people,  two males, four females  and one minor are receiving treatment at  Idera Hospital, Sagamu.”
