‘Buyed?’: Tweeps come for Makhadzi’s ‘poor’ English

Award-winning musician Makhadzi topped Twitter trends on Thursday 29 September for her poor grammar use when she thanked her fans for buying the tickets to her one-woman show.

The one-woman show is scheduled to take place this Saturday,1 October at Makhuva Stadium in Thohoyandou.

A number have suggested that the superstar should secure the services of a social media manager. This, according to tweeps, is to avoid the errors that Makhadzi makes on her social media platforms.

Yes we buyed them but we love you and we bought the tickets please get a team to run your pages someone who is good in communication must be your PR manager you certainly can’t be good in everything focus on your career we truly love you

– said @RasDonald1 on Twitter.

“uUnemali ntombazana ndin, get yourself a social media personnel to manage all your social media accounts we are tired of defending you from trolls here 🙄,” said @Aylah_ZA.

Other tweeps defended Makhadzi and said that she does not need a social media manager because her account is “far more authentic and personal. With all the spelling errors, it shows authenticity. Those outsourced accounts are detached and unreal,” said @OzalwauMaMnguni.

IS THIS A PUBLICITY STUNT?

Even with all the flack that Makhadzi is receiving for her blunder, a number of people are convinced that this is nothing but a publicity stunt for her show on Saturday.

Tweeps are saying that they can see right through Makhadzi but will support her efforts regardless.

A few days ago, Makhadzi received some love from international singer-songwriter, Tamar Braxton.

“Tamar Braxton, thanks for following me. You really made my day. I need to celebrate this. Anyone with umtomboti, can I please get two litres?” she tweeted.
