As The South African website reported on Saturday evening, an early Nascimento tame shot from a rebound was enough to hand the home side all three points.

Coach Arthur Zwane’s side nevertheless went on to dominate much of the 90 minutes but AM’s 36-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper Hugo Nyame had the Man of the Match gong to take home.

  1. The Glamour Boys enjoy one of the best crowds in Durban after thoroughly packing the Chatsworth Stadium to the rafters.
  2. Bruce Bvuma looks to be in the best form of his career. The Leratong-born 27-year-old delivered a couple of sublime saves and commanding communication with his defence.
  3. Zitha Kwinika is going to be a regular starter. Following a stellar performance, the club’s existing central defenders will all fight for the other single post. It’s likely to often be Kwinika and someone else this season.
  4. Yusuf Maart and Siyethemba Sithebe enjoyed glittering debuts in midfield. Zwane is expected to continue with a midfield two or three.
  5. Keagan Dolly is mostly likely to be the regular captain. While Zwane confirmed Itumeleng Khune will be this season’s skipper, the 35-year-old Ventersdorp-born player did not make the squad.
