Kaizer Chiefs fans finally set eyes on the new Amakhosi team in Durban last weekend. While the first outing was a 1-0 loss to Royal AM, we observed a few factors.

- The Glamour Boys enjoy one of the best crowds in Durban after thoroughly packing the Chatsworth Stadium to the rafters.
- Bruce Bvuma looks to be in the best form of his career. The Leratong-born 27-year-old delivered a couple of sublime saves and commanding communication with his defence.
- Zitha Kwinika is going to be a regular starter. Following a stellar performance, the club’s existing central defenders will all fight for the other single post. It’s likely to often be Kwinika and someone else this season.
- Yusuf Maart and Siyethemba Sithebe enjoyed glittering debuts in midfield. Zwane is expected to continue with a midfield two or three.
- Keagan Dolly is mostly likely to be the regular captain. While Zwane confirmed Itumeleng Khune will be this season’s skipper, the 35-year-old Ventersdorp-born player did not make the squad.
Meanwhile, the 12-time league champions are preparing for midweek action. Amakhosi will be hosting Maritzburg United
