‘I’m going to defeat you again white boys’: Malema to AfriForum

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema is confident that he is going to defeat AfriForum again in the Kill the Boer hate speech case.

This comes as lobby group AfriForum was granted leave to appeal the ruling made in the Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg in August this year that the song is not hate speech.

MALEMA CONFIDENT HE WILL DEFEAT AFRIFORUM

In August, AfriForum lost its bid to have struggle song Kill the Boer declared as hate speech. When giving the ruling the judge said that AfriForum failed to show that the lyrics of the song contravene the Equality Act or demonstrate a clear intention to harm or incitement.

Breaking news: @afriforum has received leave to appeal the "kill the Boer" jugement in our case against #Malema. The judge found that AfriForum "made out a case that there are reasonable prospects of success on appeal." Thank you to our legal team led by adv. Jeremy Gauntlett SC. pic.twitter.com/KRDo8GsVCx

Afriforum Campaign Officer Ernst van Zyl said  that this case is of great importance, as a message must be sent loud and clear that chants that incite violence are unacceptable and will have consequences.

“Today’s decision is only a single step forward in AfriForum’s great fight against the incitement of violence against farmers and minority groups. We will do everything in our power to ensure we defeat this dangerous, hateful behaviour,” Van Zyl said on Tuesday, 4 October when they were granted leave.

In response to the development, Malema took to Twitter saying he will defeat the white boys again.

“I’m happy you took my advice and fired your incompetent first lawyer. I’m going to defeat you again boys. Bafana ba makgowa (white boys), AfriForum,” he wrote.

It looks like Malema’s response did not sit well with Kallie Kriel who also hit back.

“Julius Malema I never thanked you for R500 000 you and the EFF had to pay to us for cost orders in the three cases you lost against us. We really put your money to good use to promote our just cause. You are one of our biggest funders, I really hope you did not use the VBS loot to pay us.”
