Spooky season is almost here with Halloween right around the corner. When watching your favourite scary movies or trick-or-treating, you want to enjoy or hand out some tasty treats. Toffee apples are an iconic treat for these events and it’s simple to make. You’ll be making your own homemade caramel which turns into great hard candy around your favourite apples for an iconic old-school treat.

Caramel needs a vigilant eye as it cooks and be very aware that if it splashes can burn severely. The caramel is ready when it’s a golden colour and the bubbles have become less. The pot should then be put into another bowl filled with water so that your sauce doesn’t harden too early. You can also add some great Halloween decorations for a great snack table or trick-or-treat gift.
