وفي بيلاروسيا رحب المعارض والدبلوماسي السابق بافيل لاتوشكا بـ "خطوة رمزية" تتيح "لفت الانتباه إلى 1334 سجيناً سياسياً في سجون بيلاروسيا". وقال: "يمنحنا ذلك إيماناً".

وفي المقابل انتقد المتحدث باسم الخارجية البيلاروسية أناتولي غلاز، قرارات لجنة نوبل "المسيسة للغاية في السنوات الأخيرة لدرجة أن ألفريد نوبل، مؤسس الجوائز، يتقلب في قبره بالتأكيد".
