A court found Kristian White‚ a 34-year-old senior-constable from New South Wales guilty of manslaughter (the verdict came just this week)
The tragic incident happened about one-and-half years ago at a local nursing home where Clare Nowland – a 95-year old resident with dementia was spotted holding a steak-knife. The small-built woman who needed a walker to move around was alone in the treatment-room when police arrived
During the confrontation White made a split-second decision to use his taser which had devastating consequences: the elderly woman (who weighted just 95 pounds and stood at 5-foot-2) fell hitting her head. The nursing home resident didnt survive the injury and passed away seven days later
