Former Indian govt worker Vikash Yadav charged in US for directing murder plot against Sikh separatist. Yadav previously arrested in Delhi for attempted murder‚ his lawyer claims charges are part of international scheme to shame India

Vikash Yadav‚ a 39-year-old ex-Indian government worker faces serious accusations in the US. The Justice Department claims he led a plan to kill a Sikh separatist in New York. This news came out on 10/19/24 (roughly a year ago)

The US says Yadav started working on this plan in spring 2023. At that time he was still a government employee. The target was Gurpatwant Singh Pannun‚ who has both US and Canadian citizenship

But Yadav had problems in India too. Delhi Police caught him on 12/18/23 (about 10 months ago). He and a friend were accused of trying to kill someone and other bad things. This info comes from a Delhi court paper

Yadavʼs lawyer‚ R.K. Handoo‚ says the Indian charges are not true. He thinks its all a big plan to make India look bad. Handoo didnʼt want to say more about it

The US might try to bring Yadav to America for trial. But no one knows where he is right now

The Delhi case is strange. A businessman says Yadav and his friend:
- Took him against his will
- Hurt him
- Stole from him
- Made him sign blank checks

They said they were working for Lawrence Bishnoi‚ a big criminal in jail. People think Bishnoi has ties to the government‚ but India says thats not true

The accused persons tortured and manhandled the complainant and demanded money in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi

From Delhi court order

This all happened while Canada was saying Indian agents were trying to hurt people who disagree with India there. Its a big mess with lots of questions
