Israeli forces stepped-up their actions in Gaza hitting several spots which left at least 26 people dead on thursday. The military push comes right after the Israel-Hezbollah peace-deal in Lebanon (that ended year-long back-and-forth fighting)
In Khan Younis a displaced resident Amal Abu Hmeid spoke about her hopes: “Life used to be nice but now theres nothing left - we barely get food once per day“. She stays at a make-shift school shelter where kids play near water-filled courtyards; laundry hangs outside class-rooms
The current state of Gaza shows major problems:
- About 70% of deaths are women and kids
- Around 130000 people moved from north Gaza in past weeks
- Most of 2.3 million people had to leave homes at least once
- Nearly 44200 total deaths reported by local officials
Recent air-strikes hit different parts: six people died near Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahiya; four others lost their lives in Khan Younis motorcycle hit. In Nuseirat camp planes destroyed big buildings - killing eleven people near mosques
The conflict started after Hamas attack last october which killed 1‚200 Israelis and took over 250 hostages. Now tanks push deeper into Rafahs north-west area while Joe Biden says heʼll try to get both sides to agree on peace - just like the Lebanon deal that worked out
