Russian officials stated their non-negotiable position on the Ukraine situation: Moscow wont back down from its demands. Maria Zakharova from Russian Foreign Ministry made this clear while addressing recent peace talks suggestions
If someone expects Russia to make some kind of concessions apparently these people have a short memory and insufficient knowledge of the matter
The statement came after Donald Trump called for quick peace talks between Moscow and Kiev (which he made just days ago). While Russia shows readiness to work with US administration – no real options addressing Moscows security needs have been presented yet
Volodymyr Zelenskiy responded to these developments by asking for real security promises; however Russian side keeps its firm position. The Kremlins requirements for peace include two main points:
- No NATO membership for Ukraine
- Russian control over four claimed regions
Russian officials point out that Vladimir Putinʼs peace terms are the only way forward – these conditions remain unchanged and non-negotiable. Moscow keeps expressing its worries about Russian-speaking people in Ukraine (which they say needs proper attention)
The situation shows clear differences between sides positions: while Kiev seeks international security support Moscow stays firm with its original demands
