A man and a woman face a slew of charges, including attempted murder, following a highway shooting in Mississauga last month.

Investigators say four victims were in a vehicle near an entertainment establishment at Atlantic Dr. and Enterprise Rd. on Friday, Nov. 12. At about 2 a.m., the victims’ vehicle was travelling along Hwy. 401 near Hwy. 427 when police say a second vehicle drove up alongside them and a firearm was discharged, striking the victim’s vehicle several times.

A firearm was seized and investigators on Wednesday announced the arrests of Ramazan Oksem, 24, of Toronto, and Anna Burriot, 21, of Toronto.

Oksem was charged with four counts of attempted murder using a firearm, one count of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, one count of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and one count of discharge firearm with intent.

Burriot was charged with occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.

The probe was conducted by investigators from Peel Regional Police’s 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, in collaboration with Toronto Police.
