Witnesses asked to come forward after pedestrian-transit bus crash in Surrey

A 69-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash on King George Boulevard just north of 96th Avenue on Tuesday

Surrey RCMP are asking witnesses to a collision between a pedestrian and a Coast Mountain transit bus to come forward.

A 69-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash on King George Boulevard just north of 96th Avenue at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say the bus driver stayed at the scene and investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash.

“The preliminary investigation indicates there were several passengers on board the 321 bus and waiting at the bus stop when this incident occurred,” said Surrey RCMP Sgt. Tammy Lobb.

“Anyone travelling on board the bus or waiting at the bus stop who witnessed this incident is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.”
