Pentagon alerts: New Russian super-missile might strike Ukraine within days
Pentagon warns about possible launch of Russias new Oreshnik missile against Ukraine based on fresh intel data. US officials dont see it as crucial weapon but promise more defense aid to Kyiv
The Pentagon shared intel about Russias plans to use its new-tech Oreshnik missile in Ukraine sometime soon; this warning comes as the almost 3-year-long conflict continues to heat-up
Sabrina Singh from Pentagon told media that attack might happen “in coming days“ (based on fresh intelligence data). While US dont see this weapon as key battlefield tool they note that Moscow wants to use every possible way to put pressure on Kyiv
The missile – first used about three weeks ago in Dnipro – carries multiple warheads and flies at mach-10 speed. Vladimir Putin made TV appearance right after first launch to show-off this tech; he stated that weapon could be used against different targets including:
- Military bases
- Defense-related factories
- Government buildings in Kyiv
We have the right to use our weapons against military facilities of countries that allow use of their weapons against our facilities
US keeps supporting Ukraine with defense tools: just days ago they promised almost $1-billion in new aid package. This comes after Russians said theyd strike back for Ukraineʼs ATACMS hit on Taganrog air-base which hurt some soldiers
The timing looks important as Donald Trump recently pushed for quick peace talks saying Ukraine should expect less US help. Meanwhile current administration stays firm – theyve given over $62-billion in military support since wars start
