A four-year-old girl has been critically injured after being ejected in a rollover collision on Hwy. 401 in Mississauga Thursday afternoon.
The crash between an SUV and a transport truck happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes approaching Erin Mill Pkwy.
“The transport truck was driving in front and the Matrix (SUV) clipped the back of the truck and rolled over,” said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
A woman and two children, aged two and four, were in the SUV which ended up in its roof.
The 25-year-old woman and the two-year-old were extricated from the vehicle.
The woman received minor injuries and the two-year-old was uninjured.
The four-year-old was rushed to hospital with critical injuries.
The truck driver was uninjured.
Schmidt said there were car seats in the SUV and police are looking into if they were properly used.
The highway was re-opened a little before 6 p.m.
The investigation continues.
