Employment and Social Services worker tests positive

A city employee working out of an office at 370 Catherine Street has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a memo to city council.

The Employment and Social Services worker was last at the office on Friday and is now in self-isolation at home.

The worker did interact with the public but this was from behind a plexiglass physical safety barrier, said the memo from Donna Gray, the city’s general manager of community and social services.

“Staff are working with Ottawa Public Health to identify and notify others who may have come in close contact with the employee.”

Four Employment and Social Services locations with a limited number of staff remain open to the public Monday to Friday from 10 3 p.m. for limited counter and drop off services.
