A woman was murdered by a man who then took his life in a Brampton home on Monday afternoon, police say.
Peel Regional Police were called to a home on Bighorn Cres., in the Torbram Rd. and Bovaird Dr. E. area, around 2:10 p.m.
Officers found the bodies of 27-year-old Sharanjeet Kaur and 35-year-old Navdeep Singh in the home’s basement apartment.
Cops have determined that the Singh killed Kaur and then himself.
Insp. Marty Ottaway said the pair had an intimate relationship in the past, but that police have so far found no warning signs.
He said a friend had reported Kaur as missing on Sunday to Toronto Police.
Toronto cops tracked the victim’s movements through her phone then asked Peel police for help.
The causes of death have not been released.
Peel police have investigated 13 domestic homicides this year, but that includes all familial murders.
