Ottawa police hand out stunt driving tickets

Eight drivers were charged with stunt driving on Friday night by Ottawa Police Service officers, including one driver estimated to be traveling 200 km/h on Woodroffe Avenue in the city’s west end.

Other drivers were charged on Ottawa roadways including Slack, Hunt Club and Hazeldean as part of ajoint-forces operation that also involved Gatineau Police and Sûreté du Québec forces,who focused on interprovincial bridges.

A total of 50 tickets were issued, including 30 speeding tickets.

The matter of the driver going an estimated 200 km/hr was still under investigation Saturday, Ottawa police said.
